I work for a company that creates training videos for a specific industry. We made a series of videos for a large client, and after they had been filmed and edited, we sent them to the client for approval.
Client: These are great! There’s just one problem.
Me: Okay, what is it?
Client: Well, the guy in the videos, he’s wearing a wedding ring in the first few videos, and then not in the rest of them. Why is that?
Me: Well, he got divorced in the few months it took to film and edit those videos, so he stopped wearing his rings.
Client: I’m worried that my people won’t trust someone who has been divorced. Can we re-shoot those videos?
After I explained it would take months to re-shoot and re-edit those videos, the client still wouldn’t budge. When I explained that the client would be responsible for paying for us to re-shoot and re-edit those videos, he decided they would be alright.
