Client: I want us to be in the top three on Google Searches for x.
Me: I can’t guarantee it, but I’ll rewrite the text to feature the right keywords and start building incoming links.
I do the work and three weeks later:
Client: We’re not in the top three. In fact, we’re worse off than before.
Me: Wow, that’s strange. Let me look at the site again.
The site has none of my text on it. Replacing all of it are images, some with non-related text in them.
Me: This isn’t the text I wrote…
Client: Yeah, I thought it was too wordy. I don’t like words. I want people to come to the site and see all these images and relate.
Me: But… people search using words, not images. How is Google supposed to know your site is about x if you changed it?
Client: Well, that was why I got you to do your SEO on it. But it isn’t working.
