Director: “Here, we’ll pan left…”
Client: “What? I don’t want you to use a panning shot. It’s too high end. Our market can’t relate.”
Written briefing from our client:
Problem: The buttons in the dialog boxes of this web application are named very differently (“add”, “save”, “delete”). That confuses the user.
Solution: All buttons have to be renamed (standardization) to “apply”
Me: “So what is your budget for the project?”
Client: “Well, i figured i would find out how much everything was going to cost and then fund raise for it.”
Client: I want a poster that’s bigger then a peice of printer paper
Me: Well a lot of people also get 11 by 17 posters made up.
Client: How big is that?
Me: 11 inches by 17 inches.
Client: Yes but how big is it?
Client wanted us to design an animated ad to be played before a ceremony.
Client: “We want something very european, minimal, sleek kind of design.”
Upon the first evaluation meeting…
Client: “I think the design is too minimal, too sleek and too european.”
Us: “But that’s exactly what you requested.”
Client: “No, I never said it. The board doesn’t like it. You have to change it.”
Client: Oh no! You did what I asked you to do!
The client’s branding materials used a series of concentric circles in the design and she had used that branding for several years. She was looking to change her brand and she asked, “Can you freshen the circles?”
