I have a client I have been working with for some time now. Due to the work I done for him across around 5 of his websites this year, his bill is around £7,000
Slowly getting cash from the client was hard. It took loads of chasing and so far I have recovered £1000.
Anyway, the client is still requesting LOADS of work, at a rate that is obviously exceeding the rate at which the invoices are paid therefore the bill is just increasing.
Note: From the work done this year, the client is making a LOT of business through constant leads, sales etc.
Client: Given all the uncertainty surrounding coronavirus, I won’t be able to pay you until things get better and I can ensure that my business is still running.
Me: I understand that you’re looking out for your business, but I’m looking out for mine. I can’t do any more work for you until you pay the existing invoice.
Client: Can you just make these few changes? Please?
I need tighter contracts…
