After a dozen back-and-forth revisions of a simple letterhead / business card bundle, the client kept making the most ridiculous requests for his materials, with things like “the address of my parents” to be included.
I asked after this and eventually realized it wasn’t the client’s requests. His father knew some “successful business entrepreneur” who was “coaching” my client.
Me: Is this guy a graphic designer? Does he know anything about marketing?
Client: Well, no, not exactly.
Me: I’m sorry, but then why are we accommodating these absurd requests?
Client: Well, the guy’s got a Ferrari.
