I did a redesign of my client’s website and then started a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) campaign. After one week of SEO work, I get call from my client:

Client: Hey, I just checked my site - you didn’t do nothing since the last week. Why?

Me: The design part of the contract is done. SEO is not design, it doesn’t change the look of your website

Client: Oh, okay - sorry, I didn’t know.

One week later…

Client:  I just checked my website - it’s still the same as it was two weeks ago. You promised to do your job.

Me: I told you last week, it’s not suppose to have any changes. It’s SEO!

Client: Oh, I forgot.

Two weeks later…

Client: I won’t pay you!

Me: Why?

Client: Because the website has been the same for a month. You didn’t do anything!

ME: And where are you on Google?

Client: Third place, but Google did that. You did nothing! My website’s looked the same for over a month.
