While editing a promotional video piece that the client “directed”…
Client: Let’s just make that dissolve a second longer, but keep the timing to the voice over.
Me: I can’t, that’s the end of the clip.
Client: Okay, but a second longer.
Me: The clip ends right there. I can’t extend the fade unless I move the voice over…to keep everything in sync.
Client: Don’t move the voice over, just make the dissolve a second longer.
Me: It’s just not possible without -
Client: God, this is so simple. Let me show you.
The client moves to keyboard and stares.
Client: Now, how do I make the dissolve longer?
